Question by acman319: Are the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Lionel Trains the same size as N-Gauge model trains?
Every Christmas for a long time now, I have been getting my father the Hallmark Keepsake Lionel Train ornaments. He loves trains and especially these ornaments. I was wondering if these ornaments were the same size as the N-Gauge model trains because I want to see if I can put these trains on N-Gauge track. If I could do this, I want to get my a track to put these trains. Any input would be great!

A Look Into The History Of The Lionel Model Train
A look into the history of the Lionel Model Train is fascinating. Lionel trains got their start in 1900 when Joshua Lionel Cowen created his first toy train, the Electric Express. Joshua was already a successful inventor at the time. He created the toy train as a nod to his childhood growing up around the rise of Union Pacific and Central Pacific lines, which made America into a world power.

The World Of Bachmann Model Trains
Most every model railroader will have heard of Bachmann model trains as they have been around for quite some time. They have not been around for nearly as long as such powerhouses as Lionel, but they are much more respected for the quality of trains they produce. Whereas Lionel produces trains, which are suitable for children and families, the Bachmann line is respected as a train for the serious model railroader. What many people may not know is the bumpy road the company went through to get to the place it is now. In fact, many people are not even aware the company is no longer an American owned company.
