  1. No I’m not.

  2. You aren’t planning on putting scenery on the lift-outs, are you? I wouldn’t think so due to the traffic that they must endure.

  3. I’m starting to get back into the hobby and was thinking I’d like to go longer on my setup, this just answered that question. Thanx for this great idea..

  4. I like the wiring tip. That will help me in my lift out project on my layout. Thx for posting.

  5. Love the series. I have 3 lift-outs, all over 50 inches. To keep weight at a minimum, and the construction a simple as possible, I ran multiple stringers of 1 x 2 under the plywood with screws every 4 inches. Light weight and rigid.

I will be replacing at least one with a bridge when time allows.

  6. Blobs. I supposed I could have designed the layout so that it was one massive dog bone design that wrapped almost all the way around the room.

  7. Hey there!

Still a big fan of your work! Any way to avoid the liftout?

  8. Yeah. I’ve got a bridge for that as well. I didn’t show that one since my primary interest is N scale. The techniques used to create the N Scale bridge also apply to creating one for HO.
