The 1st part from this weekends Model Rail Live event hosted by Model Rail magazine in partnership with Hornby. The location is the Barrow Hill Round House in the UK. The event was a mixture of model’s, displays, demos, plus trade stands. Also getting up close to various diesels, electrics & steam loco’s as well. So to kick off we take a look at two of the layouts on show. More to follow in part two….
Question by Michael Kurras: Model Railroad wiring help?
i have about 90 feet of track, 2 45 foot mainlines, when i run the train around, the train will slow down, sometimes to a stop, right before a power lead, i put one every 2 pieces of track. Does anybody know what is causing this, or how i can correct it?

It sounds like you have a polarity problem.
Check all the wires.
If you have one set reversed, the track will act like a resistor and cancel out the power about midway between two of the connection points,
All the wires on the outside rail should be one polarity and all the wires on the inside rail will be the other polarity.

@tpxpress Thank you. Cheers.
I was hoping, that you guy’s may comment. Very impressive model you’ve done, a credit to your hard work, top stuff.
Great layout by the way. Regards.
@RailwayFanatic92220 Good to have both shows, with this one being half model & half depot open day. Then yours as full model show. With the many shows that take place each weekend, bound to be some clashes some were along the line. It’s good having two shows to go to, so folk could do both over the weekend. The main thing is that both shows help to keep intrest, attract new people to, & keep this great hobby going. So good on to both you & Model Rail for putting on the events. Cheers.
2.41 bloody nora that was close!!!
@jaannetts16 Many thanks Jake, regards.
