Columbia Historical Society HO Model Railroad (Video #11)–Hinkly

This video is a ground level view of trains passing through the town of Hinkly. The kit in the background is an old Magnuson kit that was hidden from view, until I moved it to the edge of the layout. A mirror under some trees on the main street makes the town appear wider (the backdrop is only about one foot from the edge of the layout here). The railroad crossing warning is not powered at this time, so the flashing lights aren’t flashing.

I would love to have an N scale building like that. It looks very good.
The red brick 3-1/2 storey is the Magnuson kit, and probably one of the oldest buildings on the layout. It’s also very heavy to lift. I will place a crossing signal on the opposite side of the track for oncoming traffic. Wouldn’t want any accidents there. Although the area looks completed, there are still small details that need added. Thank you. I did lower the fascia in this area which allowed this video to be shot.
I don’t see a crossing signal for traffic heading toward the camera. Are they out of luck? Which bldg. is the Magnuson kit? I like the red brick 3-1/2 story bldg with wrap around overhang in the second scene.
